Many songs including famous ones use similes and metaphors to contribute to the overall meaning of a song. Some examples of songs with similes and metaphors are Love Story, Addicted, and Life is a Highway. Love Story by Taylor Swift has similes and metaphors like when she says “That you were Romeo, you were throwing pebbles And my daddy said stay away from Juliet.” She’s not really Juliet and he is not really Romeo. What she’s saying is that they are madly in love and their parents don’t want them to be together. Artists use similes and metaphors to say something but in a poetic way. This gives more meaning to what they say because they are saying it in a hidden way where you have to look deep enough to see them.
